We are all coaches in some way, and we need a coach in certain areas of our life at certain times to help us unpack ourselves and to become better at what we do.
Dave Leuhr from Elite Body Shop Solutions had a goal to not only be a good motivational speaker, but he wanted to be the best.
When you make that statement and make that declaration you really step into it, you reap the rewards because right now, he is seeing these amazing invitations coming his way. He is putting out the frequency and energy that is attracting these people to him. You need to be in the feeling state of how to manifest the outcome that you are looking for.
Dave was very specific with what he wanted – he wanted to be the BEST.
The problem with most people is they never realise their dreams in life because they are too vague – and words matter. If he said he had wanted to be one of the best, or he wanted to be good at this or that, he would never have done it. When you make a declaration to be the best at one thing it eliminates all other possibilities and all other choices.
Dave shared a story he had heard about the British Olympic Rowing Team. They had never won a thing in their life, but they really wanted to win a gold medal at the 2000 Sydney Olympics. They weren’t even considered a contender.
Not long before the 2000 Olympics they made decision – that all their decisions from now on were based on the answer to one question. Will it make the boat go faster? Yes, or No?
They would ask themselves and each other this question.
This became their mantra and here is an example of how it did unfold “Do you want to go to the Pub tonight before training in the morning? Will it make the boat go faster?” If the answer was no, then they didn’t do it and they applied this mantra to everything they did in the lead up to the Olympics.
They won Gold at the 2000 Sydney Olympics because of that one thing, that one practice that they put into place. They just set themselves up and stepped into it, and then this repetition became unconscious programming, they eliminated all the distractions.
That is why athletes are so successful – they can eliminate distractions and there are a lot of business owners that are also like this. They get to the focal point of where they want to be, they can see it, feel it, almost touch it and that is what they step into on a continuum. When a distraction comes up it plays a very little part in getting in their way.
That one little question can help everyone – just ask yourself, will it make the boat go faster?
What questions drives you?
