Whilst Gavin was onsite at Mainline Autobody in Santa Maria, California he spent some time with Marcos who is the Parts and Store Manager at Mainline Autobody California.
Marcos runs the Parts Department and plays an especially important role within the Business. He oversees all parts coming in and all the returns going back. He has been with Mainline Autobody for 7 years and working with Planning Plus for 3 of those years.
As Parts Manager, Planning Plus plays an important role every single day. It provides a clear visual indicator for all jobs using the Flag system. Marcos is also able to add notes to each task that lets the technician know what parts are here and where they are located. If more parts need to be ordered the information can be updated quickly and there is little interrupt from the technicians.
Marcos also operates the store and anything that gets taken is costed to the job. There are not many body shops around the world that do this! This is just one of the reasons why Mainline Autobody is an extremely professionally run body shop.
Marcos believes that Planning Plus has made a big difference to the business overall. Everything gets done a lot faster, everybody is informed, and everyone knows where everything is. It has turned the business into a more efficient business with a lot less stress.
